Sculptural Jewellery

The name ‘flaurena’ is an anglicised portmanteau of ‘flor’ (flower) + ‘Lorena’ (my name in Spanish).  I’m awe-inspired by nature’s striking designs, contrasts, and colour palette, and I strive to evoke this complex beauty in each of my designs.

Wire, Wire, Hearts Afire!

The flaurena™ principle is balancing affordability without sacrificing quality: almost all the designs are hand-wrought in sterling silver and (as a practical alternative to solid gold) 14-karat gold-filled wire.

The designs are embellished with a mixture of Swarovski crystals, semi-precious stones, imitation gemstones, and glorious beads that either have a history or have been sourced from another part of the world.

Twisting and coaxing precious metal wire into shape is a wonderfully time-consuming process – some of the larger necklaces can take 30 hours to create! It is this very process that results in the intricate and organic designs, and this is what makes each piece absolutely unique and as individual as the person wearing it – like a fingerprint!
